Grab your friends and come have A Shucking Good Time at SPACE's 4th Annual oyster roast presented by Cribb's Kitchen! Chef William Cribb and company will be roasting oysters over an open flame all evening long! Spend a memorable evening at the beautiful Glendale Shoals Preserve with great live music, a silent and live auction, all-you-can-eat roasted oysters and low country boil, and don’t forget your favorite cocktails and mocktails from The Drink Machine! As a nonprofit organization, SPACE relies on fundraising efforts to support our mission to protect local greenspace. As the 12th fastest growing area in the country, Spartanburg is experiencing unprecedented levels of growth and development. Look around - greenspace is disappearing fast. Your support of SPACE helps us match this growth with land protection and sustainability so we can cultivate our best future and ensure that Spartanburg remains the type of place where we want to live. In the past year, your support has helped us: • Own and manage three of Spartanburg’s most beloved and biodiverse publicly accessible natural areas. • Add 50 acres of publicly accessible greenspace for the enjoyment of Spartanburg residents. • Care for over 9 miles of nature trails. • Host litter cleanups removing thousands of pounds of trash from our streams and greenspaces. • Improve the forest health of our public lands by mitigating invasive species and promoting native plants and wildflowers. • And protect in perpetuity over 900 acres of public land, over 4,000 acres of private lands and family farms, and 57 miles of stream and river frontage. And all this work was done in YOUR backyard! It’s up to us - grassroots conservationists who care about our home – to work together to protect our natural spaces, wildlife habitat, river corridors, family farms, publicly accessible greenspaces, and scenic viewsheds in Spartanburg County before they’re gone forever.
